Stephana “Stevie” West, age 73, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2012 in Manteca.  She was born on February 21, 1939 in Hull, Iowa.  She was a resident of Manteca and previously in Livermore for 28 years.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Evelyn VanRoekel and her brother, John VanRoekel.

Stevie is survived by her husband of 52 years, Robert West of Manteca, her children: Walter West (Tracie) of Tracy, Warren Lee West and Robert John West (Jenifer Lynn) of Manteca; grandchildren: Daniel West, Ryan West and
Connor West, and siblings: Marie Russo of Dublin and Wanda Kidd of Las Vegas.

Stevie served as secretary/treasurer for the Region Eleven Boat Racing APBA.  She was a teacher to Latino children to teach them English and helped with the cub scouts.  She kept a neat and tidy home.  She loved arts and crafts, painting, needle point, and macrameing. Stevie loved her boys and grandboys.  She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Services for Stephana “Stevie” West have been entrusted to PL Fry & Son Funeral Home, 290 N. Union Road, Manteca, CA. Services are scheduled at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 14, 2011 at PL Fry & Son Funeral Home.  Final resting place will be Park View Cemetery, Manteca.  An online guestbook is available at www.plfryandson.com/search obituaries for condolences.
