Aidans team raises $3K for Epilepsy Foundation

Editor, Manteca Bulletin,

It is with much appreciation that I write this letter to you today.  As Jason Campbell reported in the May 8 edition of the Manteca Bulletin, my 7-year-old son, Aidan, has suffered from epilepsy since he was an infant.  In Aidan’s honor we participated in the Epilepsy Freedom Walk this past Saturday.  I was simply overwhelmed with the generosity displayed throughout our community, thanks to them this fundraising event was a huge success raising $85,000 for the Epilepsy Foundation.

Aidan’s Amazing ‘E’ Team raised over $3,000 with help from these wonderful sponsors: J.R. Simplot Company, Dr. El Farra at Valley Oak Dental, Doctor’s Hospital of Manteca, George Perry & Sons, Soroptimist International of Manteca, and Tuff Boy Leasing, Inc.  We couldn’t have done it without them.

Also, I must say a very special thank you to the MB reader who contacted me after reading Aidan’s story.  This individual brought it to my attention that another young boy in Modesto was suffering from a rare form of epilepsy and was featured in the Modesto Bee the same day.  With her encouragement I reached out to the family and invited them to attend the walk.  It was great to connect with another valley family living with epilepsy, they were so grateful to have the opportunity to meet others affected by epilepsy at the walk.  Thank-you, anonymous Manteca Bulletin reader!
