Good Samaritan at OSH made her day

Editor, Manteca Bulletin,

I was in Orchard Supply Hardware on Saturday to have a battery replaced in the garage door opener. Neither my husband nor I could remove the cover to check battery size. The clerk at the help desk was having difficulty also trying to remove the cover.

Then the “tall handsome stranger rode to the rescue”. He was waiting behind me at the counter and said let me try. After some minutes he was able to get the cover open and read the battery number off so I could get the new one, but then said I’ll go get one for you, which he did and then proceeded to insert the battery. As I was getting out my wallet to pay the $3 plus charge he said I’ll get the battery. I thought he meant go get the battery but no he meant pay for it.

I know my smile was wide and really genuine but I forgot to get his name. I apologize for that oversight. But thanks again tall handsome stranger you made my day!
