If you don’t like train noise perhaps you should move
letter to editor

 Editor, Manteca Bulletin,
Why are we having an editorial, city council discussion or any discussion whatsoever about silencing the train horns?
I am almost positive that the trains and crossings were all in place prior to any of the complainants moving into their present establishments.
I have been in Manteca for 29 years and live off of Union Road. My lot backs up to the train. I knew this when I moved in. If I didn’t want the train as my “neighbor” I would have looked elsewhere. The horns are there for multiple reasons. I would be willing to bet that if they were silenced or reduced and someone suffered a tragedy all of the blame would be pointed at the railroad or the city. Get over it folks, if you don’t like the noise, move!
