Rancho Cucamonga Library & possibilities for Manteca Library

Editor, Manteca Bulletin,
Courtesy of the California Library Association, I read your nice article about the Manteca Library.  I found it particularly interesting about looking outside-the-box for a different kind of library model.

Actually, here in Rancho Cucamonga, we have something probably very similar to what you had in mind:  It is a combination performing arts theater, library and events space all located in a regional shopping mall.  Our cultural center also has a large courtyard that can also be used as a programming space.  (Next weekend we will kick off another “Big Read,” a one city/one book program) and the following week, Ray Bradbury will be speaking at the Library).

Needless to say, our Cultural Center is one of the true destinations in the City, and the month of March was “the” busiest month ever in the history of our Library.

Here is the Cultural Center’s website:  http://www.vgculturalcenter.com/index.php

And feel free to get back to me if you have questions about what we do (or how we funded our facility and operations).
