In Monday’s paper I read about recycling tires for use with the asphalt street overlay.

How nice, I thought, if only they would complete their projects. I frequently use North Main or Union from Lathrop to get across town. Often I have wished while on North Main near Lathrop, that the city could afford an overlay there. Recently a street project was apparently completed at Union. I say completed as there are no barricades to warn of the deep ruts around the manholes. My question is - should I use Cottage Avenue, Highway 99, or Airport Way to save my car?
