Ripon plan for parent involvement

Trustees of the Ripon Unified School District will receive information on the Parent Involvement Plan for the District-level English Learner Advisory Committee.

That’s the group representing the best for English learners. DELAC advises the district on the best practices and programs for its students.

At tonight’s school meeting, Director of Curriculum and Categorical Programs Kathy Coleman is scheduled to speak on behalf of DELAC and its recently added district level Parent Involvement Plan during the 7 o’clock open session in the Council Chambers, 259 N. Wilma Ave.

The plan will reflect information and activities provided in order to involve parents in ways that can enhance their children’s education, according to Coleman.

In other agenda items:

uRipon High’s Nicholas Paschini will be recognized as the recipient of the Caldwell Flores Winters Scholarship.

uColeman will talk about the Local Control Accountability Plan that will include the goals and plans for this along with some minor adjustments.

uThe board will look at accepting the resignations / retirements of Ripon High teacher Linda Kucma and Weston Elementary School teacher Justin DeFreitas.
