MODESTO (AP) — Rayder Ascanio hit a two-run double in the fifth inning, leading the Modesto Nuts to a 6-4 win over the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes on Wednesday.
Matthew Festa struck Zach Reks out with a runner on first to end the game for his third save of the season.
The double by Ascanio, part of a four-run inning, tied the game 4-4 before Jordan Cowan hit a two-run single later in the inning.
Joey Strain (3-2) got the win in relief while Rancho Cucamonga starter Jordan Sheffield (0-1) took the loss in the California League game.
For the Quakes, Reks doubled and singled twice, scoring two runs.
