Marcus Rivera raced for 149 yards Friday and his Manteca Buffaloes put up 29 first-quarter points on the way to a 52-12 Valley Oak League sophomore victory over host Weston Ranch.
Rivera needed just seven carries for those 149 yards and he scored two touchdowns. Darrion Kitson (15 carries, 108 yards) added three touchdowns and Tyler Graves and Juan Carlos Martinez scored one apiece.
Bobby Bratton led the Manteca defense with seven tackles. Brian Robbins added six stops for the Buffaloes (5-0 VOL, 8-0 overall), Jesse Avila and Mathieu Maddox five apiece and Morgan Newcomb and Juan Gomez four each. Bratton, Avila, Maddox, Tito Tafoya and Austin Welch each had a sack.
Manuel Cobarrubias had more than 100 yards for the Cougars (0-5, 2-6), running the ball seven times for 35 yards and completing five of 14 passes for 75 yards including a touchdown on a 30-yard screen pass to Isaac Owen (four receptions, 55 yards) and an interception.
Elijah Harper (two receptions, 60 yards) scored on a 25-yard halfback pass from Malik Pruitt and lit up the field and special teams, returning five kicks for 160 yards and averaging 36 yards per punt on five punts, dropping one inside the 5-yard line.
Pruitt had five tackles and Owen four.

The Timberwolves scored on a 5-yard run by Brian Terrell.
According to Sierra coach Dan Duke, Andrew Guevarra, Enrique Jasso, Scott Teichera and Edquardo Garcia had standout games on defense.
The Timberwolves (7-0-1, 4-0-1) host undefeated Manteca on Friday night with the league championship on the line.
