Manteca rolls past Enochs

Mason James averaged more than 10 yards per carry for East Union High in a Lancers ground game that racked up 275 yards in a 37-0 non-league win for Johansen on Friday.

 James led all rushers with 12 carries for 121 yards with touchdown runs of 2, 4 and 20 yards. Patrick Shouland (nine carries, 89 yards) had a 4-yard touchdown run and Isaac Huffman plunged in a score from 2 yard out. Gabe Prado’s only pass was for a 5-yard touchdown to Daniel Reed.

 The Vikings never got past their own 40-yard line, going three-and-out eight times and never getting a first down. Jason Reindel (forced fumble, fumble recovery) and Joe Reynaga each had seven tackles for the Lancers. Martin Garcia had four tackles and a fumble recovery with Rueben Gallegos and Andy Parcells each getting a sack.



Manteca 55, Enochs 6.

The Buffaloes used a balanced attack to jump out to a 41-0 halftime lead.

 Kameron Beamon (seven carries, 63 yards) scored two touchdowns as did Gerson Gomez with scoring catches of 10 and 33 yards. Devyn Gonzalez (four carries, 46 yards) had a touchdown run, Jose Garcia had a 32-yard touchdown run with three catches for 38 yards, Chris Beltran had a 2-yard touchdown catch and Domingo Vargas a 6-yard touchdown run.

In his first game at quarterback Gino Campiatti was 6 of 7 passing for 87 yards and three touchdowns and Rafael Calzado had five carries for 42 yards.

 James Thomas led the Manteca defense with 11 tackles and a forced fumble, Michael Sarmento made five tackles, Jacob Tolbert forced a fumble, Joey Goodman had a fumble recovery and a sack and Rafael Calzado made an interception. 

Ripon 19, Lathrop 6

The Indians scored 13 unanswered points in the second half.

 R.J. Tisdell (4 of 8 passing, 66 yards) and hit Anthony Santos with a 5-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter. Four turnovers hamstrung the Spartans the rest of the way.

 Lathrop’s Tremayne Willis had 17 carries for 73 yards and Isaiah Hunter had eight tackles

Chavez 17, Sierra 14

 Jo-Jo Dunham played well for the Timberwolves with eight tackles and a 50-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown.

Brandon Arreola caught a 45-yard touchdown pass from Derek Rosendin.

Weston Ranch 18, Galt 0

The Cougars forced a fumble on their own 2-yard line in the fourth quarter and then embarked on a 98-yard drive capped by a 2-yard Terry Snipes touchdown plunge to ice the game.

 Elijah Harper (three receptions, 77 yards) started the scoring for Weston Ranch with a 65-yard touchdown catch from Snipes (six completions, 122 yards) in the first quarter and Tyrell Dunkin broke three tackles to score on a 12-yard run in the second period. 

Cori Floyd had seven carries for 65 yards and De’Jon Chambers three carries for 45 yards for Weston Ranch.

 Xavier Rivers led the Cougars defense with 11 tackles. Jayelon Torres (interception) had seven stops, Chandler Brock six, Elijah Harper five and Jeremiah Holman, Tyrell Duncon and Nick Patterson four apiece.
