Riverbank comes up dry against Ripon

RIPON – Ripon’s Mason Knight returned the opening kickoff 80 yards for a touchdown Friday night and the Indians added three interception returns for scores in a 59-0 thumping of Riverbank in Trans-Valley League junior varsity action at Stouffer Field. 

 The three touchdowns on interceptions came on a 10-yard grab by Landon Thomas, one of 19 yards by Aaron Wood and another of 41 yards by Austin Bonilla. Thomas and Wood combined on another score with Thomas pulling in a 12-yard pass from Wood, Knight added a 71-yard scoring run, Alex Pulido (64 yards, three carries) scored on a 52-yard run and Jonathan Ventura plunged in from 3 yards out.

 Simon De Freitas paced the Ripon defense with eight tackles with Justin Park and Cesar Castellanas adding four stops each. 

 

Oakdale 42,

Weston Ranch 14

 OAKDALE – Fidel Pitts pulled in seven receptions for 136 yards for the Cougars in VOL action at The Corral.  

 Rogelio Ruvalcava threw the two touchdown passes to Pitts and Zion Thomas and Lonanta Pulusi also played well on offense for Weston Ranch.

 

Freshman

Kimball 21, East Union 7

 Luke Weaver spotted Gustavo Delagadillo with a 4-yard touchdown pass to in the fourth quarter to put the Lancers on the board in VOL action Friday night at Dino Cunial Field. 

Weaver was 9 of 15 passing for 125 yards and Marcus Brennan tallied 108 yards on 18 carries.  Brian Howe (67 yards receving) and Marcus Brennan (28 yards) each had three catches. 

 Adam Tinnerello led the East Union defense with six tackles and an interception.  Zane Salgado and Mateo Guevara added four stops each and Payton Graham had three tackles. 

 

Central Catholic 59, Sierra 14

 MODESTO – The Raiders shot out to a 41-14 halftime lead.

 Marcelo Morales (nine carries, 140 yards) had a 65-yard touchdown run for the Timberwolves and Morales pulled in a 35-yard touchdown throw from Luke Abrew.

 

Pacheco 26, Lathrop 0

 LOS BANOS – The Spartans repeatedly gave the Panthers good field position in Western Athletic Conference action.

Lathrop’s Luis Hernandez was 7 of 18 passing for 94yards and Amario Valdovios chipped in 73 yards on 12 carries and Isaiah Bumgardner made five catches for 68 yards.

 Andres Cisneros-Pena, Josiah Pena and Noah Martinez led the Spartans with nine tackles each. Amario Valdovinos (forced fumble, fumble recovery) Jaden Prieto and Allan Osequera added seven stops apiece and Leonardo Padilla and Harold Gary both had five tackles.
