Spearheaded by senior forward Alexia Alva, co-champion Manteca (6-2-2, 23-3-3 overall) is represented by seven players on the All-Valley Oak League girls soccer team.
Oakdale (6-2-2, 18-8-3) has eight all-league selections, including MVP Jocelyn Gradilla. Manteca’s Justin Coenenberg and Oakdale’s Kico Monares split Coach of the Year honors. The Mustangs handed Manteca all three of its losses this season, including their Sac-Joaquin Section Division III semifinal decided in a penalty-kick shootout.
Among the local all-league awardees is Alva, who led the VOL with 11 goals in 10 league games. Her 37 overall goals is ranked 25th most in the state and sixth most in the SJS.
Freshman midfielder Makayla Spencer (two assists) and junior defender Serenity Cerritos (goal, assist) are Manteca’s second-team selections.
Senior midfielder Lindsey Rose of third-place Sierra (4-3-3, 14-7-6) earned another first-team spot after leading the Timberwolves with four goals and six assists.
Senior forward Payton Abrew (four goals, six assists) also made the first team after getting on the second team last year. Sophomore Maitland Kohoutek (assist) rounds out the T’wolves first-team players. Junior defender Alani Mullenix and junior striker Hailey Cruz (nine goals, assist) are on the second team.
East Union (3-4-3, 8-10-4) is highlighted by forward Chloe Silva (five goals, four assists) and defender Mackenzie Weber, both three-time All-VOL first-team selections. Fellow senior Tallon Cervantez (two goals, assist) also made the first team, while junior defender Gabrielle McIntosh made the second team.
Earning honorable mention from local schools: Jenna Campbell (East Union), Geonna Flores (East Union), Hannah Hint (Sierra), Weizemin Khan (Sierra), Kaylee Mejia (East Union), Joanna Roa (Manteca), Jaylyn Ruiz (Manteca) and Zoe Sandoval (Sierra).
