East Union golfers rout Lathrop at Jack Tone

RIPON — Natalie Cowan was low medalist for a second straight day, carding a 2-over 33 in East Union’s 218-326 win over host Lathrop at Jack Tone Golf Course on Wednesday.

Individual points all went to the Lancers, who improved to 3-2 in the Valley Oak League. Kendra Campbell finished 10 strokes behind Cowan for a second-place finish. Hayley Leonard and Presley Graham scored a 44 and 45, respectively. Kaylin Hebert rounded out East Union’s score with a 53.

Abigail Lee led Lathrop with a 60. Chloe Malicoat (64), Kaitlynn Edrington (66), Gurmeen Kaur (66), Eghosa Ogbeide (70) and Parmeet Toger (70) chipped in for the Spartans.

 

Oakdale 218, Sierra 313

OAKDALE — The VOL-leading Mustangs (3-0) continued their early-season dominance. Madi Blanc led the way with a 6-over 42 at Oakdale Country Club, and she had four teammates each finish with a 44.

Sierra (1-3) was paced by Legacy Barnes’ 55. Bryanna Gavino (62), Kaitlyn Looney (64), Aubrey White (65) and Hailee Looney (67) also factored into the scoring.

Lathrop 0

STOCKTON — The Spartans (0-5) were simply outmatched by Lincoln, which rolled to a 25-13, 25-13, 25-13 win.

Malie Akers and Myani Thornton led the Lathrop attack with three kills apiece. Setter Fasha Hayes contributed seven assists and 10 digs. Ayzher Oscona also had 10 digs, Joy Bautista added nine and Karina Chavez dished out six assists.

Lathrop closes nonleague action tonight at Chavez.
