Ripon Christian ended Southern Athletic League play without a loss with Thursday’s commanding 3-0 victory over visiting Orestimba.
The Knights (13-0-1, 16-4-2 overall) earned their first league title since a five-year reign that ended in 2017 and will find out their placement in the Sac-Joaquin Section playoffs today.
Rachel Oosterman scored both of Ripon Christian’s first-half goals, both of which were assisted by Elle Van Wyngarden. Maya De Jong buried the insurance goal midway through the second half.
Midfielders Janine Prins and Adri Arias were instrumental in limiting the Orestimba (7-6-1, 9-9-1) attack. Ripon Christian ended the regular season with four shutouts in its last five matches.
