The Manteca girls tennis team and Ripon boys and girls water polo squads will get to host first-round contests in the Sac-Joaquin Section playoffs next week.

Sierra’s Valley Oak League champion girls water polo team is on the road. Brackets were released Thursday.

Manteca (14-7-1) is eyeing its fourth section girls tennis championship, as it begins the Division III team tournament on Monday. The No. 4-seeded Buffaloes take on El Capitan (12-4) of Merced at Manteca Regional Tennis Center. Defending champion Placer (18-0) is the top seed and likely semifinal opponent for the winner.

The final matches are set for Nov. 11 at Zimmerman Tennis Complex at the University of the Pacific.

The girls water polo playoffs start next Tuesday.

After knocking off Ripon in the VOL girls tournament final, Sierra (16-11) is seeded 10th in Division and playing No. 7 Bella Vista (18-10) at Rio Americano.

Ripon’s two-time section champion girls (17-5) are in Division III and seeded fourth. No. 13 Livingston (10-4) visits, though the match will take place at Oakdale High.

Ripon’s No. 6-seeded boys team (18-12) is in Division II and hosts its first-round game next Wednesday at St. Mary’s. The four-time section titlist has been matched with No. 11 Woodcreek (11-17).

Water polo finals are on Nov. 15 at Natomas Aquatic Center.
