Sierra’s Mikaella Manto ran away from the field Wednesday with a two-over-par 38 to lead Sierra to a 287-324 Valley Oak League girls golf win over Manteca at Manteca Golf Park.

“It was great to have the girls back out on the course competing,” Timberwolves coach Justin Crowe said. “Mikaella (Manto) picked up right where she left off last spring playing very well and helping the team.

“We are looking forward to another strong team performance at Swenson next week for the first 18-hole VOL tournament.”

Sierra’s Julia Erdman checked in with a 52 followed by Anna Dickinson (58), Kate Berdiago (69) and Marissa Alvarez (70).

Mohrgen Kisse and Emalyne Lundbalm paced the Buffaloes with both shooting a 54.

“I know the girls were excited to get on the course, and a return to normalcy,” Manteca coach Ron Gross said. “They are looking forward to the season ahead.”

Following Kissee and Lundbalm were Aleah Melendez (70) and Alyssa Gonzales and Jasmine Nieto with 73 apiece.
