Ripon Christian’s boys basketball team is just one win away from earning a share of the Southern League championship after Friday’s 68-55 triumph over visiting Le Grand.
The Knights improved to 10-0 in conference play (18-5 overall) and has a two-game lead over Denair (8-2, 16-7), which so happens to be their next opponent. Ripon Christian hosts the Coyotes on Tuesday.
Logan Vos had the hot hand for RC Friday, burning Le Grand for 28 points including six 3-pointers. He also pulled down 10 rebounds.
Sophomore Danny Vos added 16 points, six assists and five steals. Brady Rhoda contributed eight points.
Head coach Ron Vander Molen applauded the combined defensive efforts of Logan Vos and James Vander Schaaf, who took turns guarding 6-foot-5 standout Zach Moreno. Moreno finished with 23 points.
