Ripon High walked into halftime locked with Orestimba 1-1 but dominated the second half in a 5-1 Trans Valley League victory Wednesday.

Arik Anaya answered Orestimba’s first goal in the 14th minute and the game would stay knotted until the 59th minute in second half play.

Anaya found Chase Crawford on a corner kick and Crawford made good on the kick and put the Indians up for good. Ripon would make it through a good portion of the second half playing down a man after Ripon lost a player to a red card.

“Something switched in our heads and all of a sudden we had more and more scoring opportunities from better spots,” Ripon head coach Jamie DeBruyn said. “It was nice to see to see us come together despite being a man down.”

Matt Uecker scored on a through ball from Anaya for the Indians’ third goal, Chasen Martinsen would add the fourth and Uecker would send in the Indians final goal in the games’ 76th minute.

Johnathan Soto was remarkable for Ripon in the net, turning away five shots on saves, including a second-half Orestimba penalty-kick attempt.
