Lathrop’s girls volleyball team won its seventh straight match on Wednesday while improving to 2-0 in the Western Athletic Conference with a 25-10, 25-14, 25-17 victory at Grace Davis.

Grace Davis (0-2 WAC, 1-7 overall) had no answer for Lathrop’s balanced attack orchestrated by sophomore setter Sariah Hilton, who had 17 assists and three aces.

Siliana Fa’taualofa blasted a team-high eight kills, and Erin Chunn had seven kills to go with three aces, four digs and a solo block.

Breanna Wiseman had two blocks, two kills and three aces. Libero Jadore Dixon contributed six digs and three aces.

Lathrop (8-3) travels to Linden tonight for a non-league match.

Manteca 3 Linden 0

Taimane Tu’uga registered 15 kills and 15 digs for Manteca (6-3), which took care of the visiting Lions (6-6) in three sets, 25-18, 25-22, 25-19.

Middle blocker Trinity Todd contributed 12 kills, and Ariceli Castillo collected eight kills, 12 digs and two aces.

Setter Katie Anderson totaled 30 assists. Defensive specialists Madeline Nunes and Chloe Martin each had seven digs.

Manteca hosts Ripon Christian for another non-league match tonight.

Pitman 3, Ripon Christian 0

The Knights (6-4) were well tested by visiting Pitman (5-4), which escaped with a 25-22, 25-21, 25-22 non-league win.

Rhian Huevel amassed 17 assists and 10 digs to lead Ripon Christian. Brooklynn Postma added 12 assists and three blocks.

Alyssa Hofman fired six kills and two aces, while Annika Jung had a team-high seven kills. Bailey Brayton led the back row with 15 digs.

FLAG FOOTBALL

Sierra 27, Patterson 7

The Timberwolves (1-1, 6-5) overall got their air attack going in the Valley Oak League contest at Daniel Teicheira Memorial Stadium.

Quarterback Tessa Zalunardo completed 31 of 37 passes for 284 yards, three touchdowns and an interception. She hit sophomore Elin Villanueva 10 times for 104 yards and Emalina Latu (eight receptions, 77 yards) twice for touchdowns. Felisa Cruz Olenhouse added 71 yards and a touchdown on eight catches.

Running back Mia Aguirre scampered for 55 yards and a touchdown and paced the defense with five flag pulls and two sacks. Villanueva had an interception,

Lathrop 28, Grace Davis 0

Defending WAC champion Lathrop (2-0, 6-2 overall) made a statement in the home win over previously-unbeaten Grace Davis (1-1, 7-1).

Ja’Leiyah Ray had a hand in four touchdowns, scoring twice on receptions, once on a 43-yard interception and return and connecting with Faith Allen on a 20-yard pass. Ray finished with two interceptions.

Aviahna Calderon completed the TD passes to Ray. Sareah Reed spearheaded the defense’s shutout with nine flag pulls. Alyssa Herrera collected four sacks and a safety. Isabella Espinosa pitched in two sacks.

GIRLS TENNIS

Manteca 7, Oakdale 2

The Buffaloes (3-0 VOL, 8-1 overall) won handily on the road, getting singles wins from Hailie Kim (6-3, 6-1), Reina Ngo (6-0, 6-0), Rae Limbago (6-0, 6-0), Saihaj Ghuman (6-1, 6-0), Paisley Coenenberg (6-1, 6-2) and Ekam Ghuman (6-2, 6-1).

No. 2 doubles Alyson Alvarado and Cataleya Estrada Perez won, 6-4, 6-2.

JV girls volleyball

Lathrop 2, Grace Davis 0

Lathrop cruised, 25-17, 25-10.

Elsa Johnson hammered three kills, while Aylin Reyes had two kills and six aces. Arianna Sheel and Elia Dasalla registered seven and three digs, respectively.

Cassidy Fa’ali’i handed out 11 assists to go with two aces, two kills and two digs.

Ripon Christian 2, Pitman 0

The Knights swept 25-19, 25-18 behind Audrey Jung’s 12 kills. Gabbi McCormick accumulated 14 assists, 10 digs and three aces.

Ripon Christian’s freshman team picked up its first win, prevailing in two sets.

Lathrop 33, Grace Davis 13

Alexia Garcia connected with Lauryn Adatan and Arianna Miller for touchdown completions spanning 9 and 58 yards, respectively.

Adatan also had a 39-yard rushing touchdown, while Miller added a 22-yard scoring run.

Melanie Burciaga set the tone defensively with an early pick-six, while finishing with a team-high four flag pulls.

Novice girls volleyball

Lathrop 2, Grace Davis 0

Teonna Finney served six aces, and Marina Hernandez had five of her own in the 25-11, 25-12 victory.

Hernandez also had three kills, while Finney had two.

Jessica Reif chipped in five assists and a solo block. Jazmine Castaneda collected five digs.
