Patrick Lee Welsh, born November 3, 1947, died August 25, 2026, at Lakeport Post Acute Care Center in Lakeport, California. Patrick was born in Ukiah, California, and lived there as a youngster. His parents were Raymond Vanoven and Margaret Welsh (née Niderost), both deceased. When 9 years old, he moved with his mother, his stepfather, Edwin Welsh, now deceased, and his siblings, Starr and Edwin Junior, to Manteca, California. It was there that he graduated from high school in 1965 and began his career as an auto and truck mechanic.

His work took him to various locations in the San Joaquin Valley and briefly back to the area around Mendocino County. He had been residing at Lakeport Post Acute Care Center since 2007. He is survived by his sister, Starr Ossman (of North Carolina); half–sisters Ruthie Warn (of Willits, California) and Diane Casteneda (of Porterville, California); half–brothers David Vanoven (of Crescent City), Danny Vanoven (of Laytonville, California), and Edwin Welsh (of New York); his children, Shawnda, Derek, and Dana (all residing in Missouri); and their mother, Gloria England (of Coulterville, California). It was his wish to be cremated without services and that his remains be placed near his father’s grave at the Ukiah Cemetery in Ukiah, California.
