Darrel “Rocky” Wilson was born in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to Viola and Oliver Wilson. Darrel moved to California and graduated from Hayward High School. He met and married Nelda Lou Kees in 1951 and moved to Manteca in 1954.

   He was proceeded in death by his devoted and loving wife, his parents, his brother Bill Wilson, his sisters Betty and Dora Wilson and a son Richard Wilson.        

   Darrel is survived by his children, Glenn Wilson, Tamra Wilson, Tim Wilson, 11 grand kids and 22 great-grand kids.                      Darrel enjoyed his career in the military of 42 years. He was employed for 33 years with the California Army National Guard Combined Support Maintenance Shop in Stockton, California and 9 years at Camp San Luis Obispo in San Luis Obispo, California. Darrel always honored his fellow Veterans and the American flag. He was one of the first Volunteers with the Flags Over Manteca project. Darrel volunteer and supported the East Union Memorial Cemetery. He was a member of the Manteca Historical Society, Manteca Mural Society, Friends of EUMC, American Legion and the US Army Warrant Officers Association.

   He was a devoted SF Giants and 49er fan. Darrel, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. He liked everyone he met, some a little more than others!    P.L. Fry and Son is honored to be serving the Wilson family. Visitation will be on Friday, September 11, 2026 at 11:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. held at P.L. Fry and Son, 290 N. Union Rd., Manteca, Ca. A service will follow on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. also held at P.L. Fry and Son Chapel. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery.
