Ripon’s water polo team was shorthanded against a coed contingent from Central Catholic on Thursday, but it did not matter.
The Indians preserved their perfect Valley Oak League record Thursday with a 12-2 victory. Central Catholic was held scoreless until the fourth quarter.
Brody Bidermann tallied four goals, three assists and two blocks. Owen Curtis collected three goals, three blocks and three assists. McKeane Beier came up with five blocks and a steal while playing in place of regular starting goalie Benny Rogers. Ryan Bell contributed two goals, while Matthew Lee, Teo West and Nathan Selna scored one apiece.
BOYS WATER POLO
Sierra 17, Kimball 4
Erfan Ballew and Mitch Van Zwaluwenburg netted four goals apiece for the Timberwolves.
Sammy Perez chipped in with three goals
Bayan Ballew and Noah Sandoval scored twice. Moises Alvarado, Erik Johnson, and Carson Murray added one apiece.
Grace Davis 10, Lathrop 3
Christian Buerster fired two of Lathrop’s goals, and Caiden Wiesnieski accounted for the other.
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Central Catholic 3, Manteca 0
The Buffaloes (3-5 VOL, 13-11 overall) were swept on the road, 23-25, 12-25, 22-25.
Setters Jessica Almeida produced 14 assists and six digs, while Ava Negranza had 13 digs and seven assists. Michaela Singh added 12 kills and five digs. Courtney Washburn chipped in five kills and four blocks. Nicole Ayala led the back row with 12 digs.
Lathrop 3, Los Banos 0
The Spartans has (11-2, 15-8 overall) has second place all wrapped up in the Western Athletic Conference, as they took care of Los Banos on the road, 25-22, 25-11, 25-13.
Janessa Ward collected 14 kills, while Alaba Olaleye scored seven to go with 18 digs and five aces.
Camila De La Garza Garcia contributed 23 assists and seven digs. Alejandra Velazquez dished out eight assists, and Celeste Narvaez had 20 digs.
JV volleyball
Central Catholic 2, Manteca 0
Isabella Medina registered three kills and three aces in the loss for Manteca.
Serenity Cerritos picked up a team-high eight digs. Kenya Giron added five kills, two digs and a block.
Lathrop 2, Los Banos 0
Julia Roaquin stood out with three kills, seven aces, three assists and six digs in the 24-14, 25-10 sweep for the Spartans.
Justine Mabutas came through with 11 digs. Anabelle Obasuyi chimed in with four solo blocks and two kills.
Frosh volleyball
Central Catholic 2, Manteca 1
Manteca could not keep its early momentum in a 24-14, 16-25, 5-14 loss.
Riley Ward led the Buffs with 15 assists and three aces. Talia Shelbourne and Lauren Moncada contributed six and five kills, respectively. Kamiyah Johnson added three kills and eight digs.
Los Banos 2, Lathrop 1
Lathrop came up short, 12-25, 25-17, 9-15.
Shakara Porter pounded out six kills, Alyana Vere had eight digs, Moira Ramones had five and Tatiana Lopez added three aces and six assists.
