Jebavy leads San Jose Giants past Modesto Nuts

MODESTO (AP) -- Ronnie Jebavy tripled, doubled and singled as the San Jose Giants defeated the Modesto Nuts 6-4 on Monday.

San Jose grabbed a 4-1 lead in the second after Ryan Howard hit a two-run single.

After the teams traded runs, the Nuts cut into the deficit in the fifth inning when Braden Bishop hit an RBI double and then scored on a single by Logan Taylor.

The Giants tacked on another run in the seventh when Aramis Garcia hit a sacrifice fly, scoring Jebavy.

San Jose starter Mike Connolly (4-5) picked up the win despite allowing four runs and eight hits over six innings. Opposing starter Nathan Bannister (2-4) took the loss in the California League game after allowing five runs and 10 hits over six innings. Dylan Rheault struck out the side for his fourth save of the season.
