Lund, Justus and Sandoval lead Empire

STOCKTON (AP) — Brennon Lund, Connor Justus and Brandon Sandoval each had three hits, as the Inland Empire 66ers beat the Stockton Ports 6-3 on Monday.

Lund doubled and singled twice, driving in a run and also scoring one. Justus doubled and singled twice, scoring two runs.

Inland Empire got on the board first with a run in the third inning. After leading off the inning with a single, Lund advanced to second on a balk and then scored on a single by Jared Walsh.

After Inland Empire added two runs in the fourth, the Ports tied the game in the fourth inning when Sandber Pimentel hit a two-run home run and Seth Brown hit a solo home run.

The 66ers took the lead for good in the fifth when Jordan Serena hit an RBI single, bringing home Justus.

Inland Empire starter Jesus Castillo (8-3) picked up the win despite allowing three runs and six hits over 5 2/3 innings. Opposing starter Angel Duno (8-7) took the loss in the California League game after giving up four runs and 11 hits over five innings. Sam Holland retired the side in order for his seventh save of the season.
