BOSTON (AP) — The Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers are preparing for a seventh game in their Eastern Conference semifinal series.
The teams will meet in Boston on Saturday for the chance to play in the conference finals. Philadelphia forced a seventh game by beating the Celtics 82-75 on Wednesday night. Both teams took Thursday off.
It's the first time the two rivals have met in a Game 7 since Dr. J and Andrew Toney beat the original Big Three in Boston to put the Sixers in the 1982 NBA finals.
The Celtics are 20-7 in seventh games. Philadelphia is 6-8.
