Carabello plays part in 7 TDs as Jr. Buffs trample Cowboys

Brody Carabello ran for five touchdowns and threw for two more to Josiah Moreno to lead the Manteca Jr. Buffaloes varsity to a 48-19 win over the Manteca Cowboys in Central Valley Youth Football and Cheer action.

The Jr. Buffaloes racked up 400 yards of total offense. Carabello (6 of 7 passing, 82 yards; 15 carries, 236 yards) scored on runs of 4, 5, 12, 29 and 68 yards and connected with Moreno (four receptions, 40 yards) for scoring throws of 10 and 21 yards. Brixton Menchaca-Ortiz gained 65 yards on nine carries and 26 yards on one reception.

Carabello and Menchaca-Ortiz made four tackles, Adriel Cooks (forced fumble), Bode Hiatt and Brennan McMichael three each with two for Logan Qualls.

Kionte Wakefield (53 yards rushing) scored a pair of touchdowns for the Cowboys on a 48-yard run and a 47-yard pass from Nehemiah Tomanogi. Joseph Antoine returned a kickoff for a touchdown.

Darien East led the Cowboys with nine tackles followed by Wakefield and Logan Yagi with four each.

 

Junior varsity

Cowboys 25, Jr. Buffaloes 0

A different Cowboy scored in every quarter.

Terrance Montgomery (six carries, 32 yards) scored on a 14-yard in the first period, Erian Johnson Jr. (16 carries, 160 yards) added a 42-yard touchdown run in the second, Jonathan Morales (seven carries, 47 yards) scored from 10 yards out in the third and Bryant Lewis capped the scoring in the final quarter on a 54-yard run.

Devin Cortinas paced the Cowboys defense with seven tackles followed by Jonathan Morales (six tackles), Bryant Lewis (five), Mateo Salcido (four) with three each for Montgomery and Johnson Jr. Ka'Mari Wynne made an interception.

 

Rookies

Jr. Buffaloes 40, Cowboys 7

Max Rios scored the lone Cowboys touchdown.

German Patron led the Cowboys with 62 yards on three carries. Rios added 41 yards on four carries with 32 yards apiece for Stevens Charvell (five carries) and Mateo Gavino (four carries).

Gavino made eight tackles, Angelo Martinez and Charvell five each with four apiece for Rios and Able George.

Tiger Singh led the Cowboys defense with nine tackles.

Santana Frias, Ismael Aceves, Oshari Dunn Jr. and Frankie Nieto added four stops each with two apiece for Andrew Cypert, Typhon Gonzales and Josiah Barrientos.
