Nicco Juarez and Bobo Gallegos scored two touchdowns apiece for the Manteca Cowboys varsity in a 30-6 thumping of the Tracy Buccaneers in NorCal Youth Football and Cheer action.

Juarez (12 carries, 142 yards) scored from 30 and 41 yards out and Gallegos (13 carries, 79 yards) had 1- and 11-yard touchdown runs.

Juarez led the Manteca defense with six tackles followed by Isaiah Grey with five and four apiece for Anthony Valdez and Hoku A’pe.

 

Junior varsity

Buccaneers 32, Cowboys 0

Manteca’s Julian Ramirez completed five passes for 50 yards.

Nikko Hisapryor made three catches for 36 yards for the Cowboys. Tyler Pettis, Dean Sortonis and Adrian Sena all contributed to the Manteca offense. 

Sortonis led the Cowboys defense with nine stops followed by Hisapryor with eight, Ramirez (interception) with six, Adrian Ochoa and Tyler Pettis with five apiece, Joseph Vigil, Jordan Murphy, Will Carter and Adrian Sena with four each and three apiece for Andrew Salmeron, Elias Lopez and Daniel Bass Jr.

 

Rookies

Buccaneers 21, Cowboys 6

Manteca blanked Tracy in the second half but could not close the gap.

Giovanni Perry scored the lone Manteca touchdown on a 6-yard run in the third quarter. Terrance Montgomery paced the Cowboys with 47 yards on 11 carries and Bryan Lewis picked up 36 yards on 12 carries. Devin Cortinas contributed on offense.

Bryant Lewis led Manteca with nine tackles. Jonathan Morales, Cortinas and David Espinosa added five stops apiece and Terrance Montgomery four.

 

Starts

Buccaneers 34, Cowboys 0

Tracy scored in every quarter.

Mateo Gavino gained 89 yards on 10 carries for Manteca. Charvelle Moore-Stevens added 75 yards on four carries and Hudson Green had 45 yards on three carries.

Abil George (forced fumble, fumble recovery) and Moore-Stevens made 10 tackles each for the Cowboys. Mateo Gavino added seven stops and Jonathan Frutis five.

Varsity

Ripon Knights 48, Ceres Seahawks 0

Mason Tameling and J.P Abrew were in on two touchdowns apiece for Ripon.

Tameling (7 of 11 passing, 121 yards) found Abrew with a scoring throw of 54 yards and threw a 22-yard touchdown pass to Jackson Howell (three catches, 31 yards) and Abrew returned a punt 40 yards for a touchdown. J.J. Brawley (10 carries, 52 yards) added a 6-yard scoring run, Lushen Sanders (seven carries, 75 yards) scored on a 14-yard run and Ben Vita returned a fumble 45 yards for a touchdown. Blake Stuit added 34 yards on five carries with Uriah Ross and Isaac Venema contributing on offense.

Eddie Ramirez led the Knights defense with 10 tackles. Dax Beidleman (forced fumble) and Brawley had four stops apiece with Chase Bunnell (interception) and Eli Briseno making three tackles each. Isaac Venema and Darren Van Groningen both forced a fumble.

 

Junior varsity

Knights 40, Seahawks 13

Ripon’s Mason Durao threw three touchdown passes and Jax Booth ran for three scores.

Booth had six carries for 64 yards with touchdown runs of 4, 6 and 54 yards. Durao threw touchdown passes of 14 and 30 yards to Gavin Decena (three receptions, 48 yards; three carries, 44 yards) and 86 yards to Xavier Powell (two receptions, 92 yards). Kaeo Sanchez added 64 yards on five carries.

Drew Walker led the Knights defense with seven tackles, Sanchez (interception) and Jax Booth made four tackles apiece with three for Izaac San Nicholas, Nate New and Jo Hernandez.  

Jack De Jong, Zander Rivera, Gavin Decena, Tucker Lewis, Luke Veneman, Max Abrew and Myles Pollard all contributed on defense.  

 

Novice

Knights 26, Seahawks 6

Ripon’s Mason Dodson scored two touchdowns and ran for nearly 100 yards.

Dodson gained 64 yards on nine carries with scoring runs of 21 and 23 yards. Travis Maltes (three carries, 65 yards) added a 45-yard touchdown run and Jacob Hightower scored from 25 yards out.

Tyce Sanchez racked up 15 tackles for the Knights. Cal De Bruin added 11 stops, Max Neto seven, Jamison Hicks and Nathan Fletcher four apiece and Jesse Vega (forced fumble, fumble recovery) three.

 

Junior novice

Knights 27, Seahawks 0

Ripon’s Alex Lora and Hudson Postma combined for three touchdowns and more than 200 yards rushing.

Lora tallied eight carries for 110 yards with touchdown runs of 5 and 55 yards. Postma put up 96 yards on four carries with a 70-yard touchdown run and Luke Sanders added a 31-yard scoring run.

Shooter Bruns (forced fumble) made five tackles for a loss. Luke Sanders and Luca Durao had five stops with Mearl Thompson and Lora adding three tackles each. Max Neto recovered a fumble while Jaxon Quilantang, Hudson Postma, Nikolai Gorbunoff, Don Fletcher, Giovanni Penaflor and Colton Avant also contributed on defense.

 

Motherlode Valley

Varsity

Escalon Jr. Cougars 29, Ripon Chiefs 14

Ripon’s Jackson Fay returned a pair of interceptions for touchdowns. 

Fay’s touchdown returns were from 32 and 33 yards out.

A.J. Chapman made five stops for the Chiefs, Xabriel Reyes and Joaquin Rodriguez four apiece and Kenneth Smart three.

 

Junior varsity

Chiefs 22, Jr. Cougars 0

Ripon overcame a slow start to record its eighth consecutive shutout.

Matthew Gaines racked up 169 total yards for the Chiefs with an 80-yard rushing touchdown and a 65-yard scoring pass from Andrew Shaw. Kael Rangel added a rushing touchdown and six carries for 75 yards.

Ace Dougherty paced the Ripon defense with 11 tackles and two forced fumbles. Kaiden Romero added eight stops, Gilbert Luiz seven, Gavin Duran five and four apiece for Jude Viss, Matthew Villanueva and Shaw. Mason Buck and Rangel contributed to the defense.

 

Delta Youth Football

Varsity 

Tracy Raiders 22, Manteca Chargers 0

Logan Pool blocked a punt and made eight tackles for Manteca.

Alijah Hawkins made five tackles and recovered Pool’s blocked punt. Hezekiah Griffin made six tackles and Shane Foreman three with Mathew Johnson contributing on defense.

 

Junior varsity

Chargers 26, Raiders 6 

Manteca’s Darien East enjoyed a 100-yard day and scored three touchdowns.

East ran for 105 yards and had 1-, 15-, and 52-yard scoring runs. Roman Duvernay (37 rushing yards) scored on a 15-yard run.

Dominic Roa totaled 50 rushing yards for the Chargers. Isaiah Herrera contributed to the offense

as did Nicholas Holt.

Holt made four tackles with Robi McDonald (fumble recovery), East, Roa, Nolan Contreras, Shane Saenz and Darren Ellis all contributing on defense.

 

Novice 

Chargers 18, Raiders 0 

Manteca’s Tobias Cox rand 65 yards for a touchdown on the game’s first play.

Isaac Estrada scored a touchdown and ran for 120 yards. Junior Evans forced a Tracy fumble and Zachary Behrbaum grabbed the loose ball and rambled 95 yards for a Chargers touchdown.

Evans made eight tackles, Behrbaum seven, Jaden Vasquez six and four apiece for Navi Murrillo and Jamie Buchanan. Diesel Spangler and Bruce Wedlow-Jones both contributed on defense.

 

Junior novice 

Raiders 31, Chargers 18 Tracy Raiders 31

Jeremiah Valdes scored a pair of touchdowns for Manteca.

Valdes ran for a 65-yard score and he had a 50-yard run ended at the 6-yard line only to punch it on the next play. Jayden Shortridge scored the other Chargers touchdown.

Shortridge and Valdes made four tackles apiece with Eli Ruiz, Julius Newman, Wyatt Love and Jharon Jackson all contributing on defense.
