TRACY – The Spreckels Park Giants racked up 11 hits Sunday and took advantage of 12 walks from the Weston Ranch Yankees on the way to a 13-3 six-inning win at Monticello School and a berth in tonight’s championship against the Manteca Red Sox.

Leadoff batter Dominic Rea (3 for 4, triple, RBI) of the Giants set the tone for the day when he started the game off with a triple. An RBI double by Joel Gallo (2 for 4, two doubles, RBI), an RBI on an error off the bat of Ethan Sanchez (two RBI) and three walks later Spreckels Park jumped out to a 5-0 lead.

In a three-run Giants second inning Kenny Kuwada (2 for 4, double, three RBI) had an RBI double and Sanchez an RBI single. Kuwada singled in two RBU in the third.

Steven Eaves, Zelmar Vedder, Kuwada and Josh Brake split pitching duties for Spreckels Park, allowing four hits while combining for seven strikeouts. Brake had three of those strikeouts in the five batters he faced to close out the game.

Jesse Andrade was 2 for 3 with an RBI and two doubles for Weston Ranch.

The Giants and the Red Sox square off this afternoon at 5 – a Manteca win ends the tournament and a Spreckels Park win sets up a winner-take-all contest Tuesday at 5 p.m.
