TRACY – Coming soon to Tracy Nissan: The 2013 Altima.

The best-selling sedan is currently on display in the showroom of the dealership located at 3195 Naglee Road. Arrival of the 2013 model is expected to hit the lot in the next few weeks.

The new Altima, for starters, packs more of a punch thanks to a 2.5-liter inline-four cylinder engine, generating 182 horsepower.

That’s seven more in horsepower compared to the 2012 Altima.

This 2013 sedan has reduced engine drag. Credit that to the valve timing cam-phasers on the intake manifold and exhaust sides, the variable-flow intake manifold, and the smart-charging alternator, according to Motor Trend.

Add the updated continuously variable transmission equipped with the taller axle ratio and wider radio spread of 7.0 for pickup speed and low-rpm for the highways.

The result is improved fuel efficiency. The Altima can now get 27 miles per gallon city and 38 mpg highway, placing it the Nissan Versa range.

The Nissan Altima is lighter in weight due in part to greater application of ultra-high-strength steel and aluminum.

The fuel tank is also smaller, dropping from 20 gallons to 18.

The Altima’s interior has more of a contemporary look.  Yet it still makes for a quiet ride and available in attractive colors.

For greater comfort, the front seats were influenced by NASA research.

On the instrument panel, the Altima has a four-inch Advanced Drive-Assist Display and the NissanConnect Bluetooth / telematics suite.

Technology is one of the strong points of the new Altima. Among the features are the easy-fill tire alert, remote start, and lane-departure warning system.
