TRACY – Tracy Outlet Mall in 2008 attracted 2 million shoppers according to Elaine Yager, general manager of the 30-store outlet center.

The center also ranked as a hot destination during the holiday shopping season, attracting  260,000 consumers who visited the center from  Thanksgiving through Dec. 31.

Despite the economic climate, Tracy Outlets  continues to be a favorite shopping destination already showing a 6% traffic increase this January over January 2008.

Contributing to the successful year at the Tracy Outlets were the additions of great new merchants to the center including  Maurices and Tuesday Morning.

Major annual events also drew in area shoppers including targeted Holiday Sidewalk Sales, the Annual Hospice Tree Lighting, the Princess Tea Party and the Mom’s Day & Holiday Giveaways.

Another added component was a focused marketing effort to support a strong line up of merchants including the Gap Outlet, Reebok/Rockport, Carter’s Childrenswear and Levi’s Outlet by MOST.  Look for additional exciting retailers that are in the works for 2009.
