RIPON - The owner of Dorie’s Tea Cottage in Groveland is presenting the program at the Wednesday, Feb. 1, meeting of the Ripon Garden Club.

The meeting takes place at 10 a.m. that day at the American Legion Hall, 206 Stockton Ave.

Dori’s Tea Cottage is located at 18744 Main Street (Highway 120) in Groveland just 26 miles from Yosemite National Park. The tea room and gift boutique are located in the former residence of Minnie Ferretti, one of Groveland’s first U.S. Postmasters. Built in 1935, this charming house features a welcoming brick courtyard surrounded by roses and grapevines. Inside, you feel the warmth of the old house, from its original hardwood floors and lace curtains to the old stone fireplace.

Dori’s Tea Cottage opened in May 2008 to continue the fine tradition of “taking tea” and to expand on Dori’s life-long love of tea (Dori was first introduced to tea by her English grandmother, Elsie). Dori and her husband, Greg, lived in San Jose for 35 years and raised their two sons. They were ready to leave the rat race of Silicon Valley behind. Dori had been in high-tech public relations and Greg had been a real estate broker.
