Another 97 homes are being proposed along Austin Road.

The Raymus Homes endeavor involves 21.17 acres on the southwest corner of Austin Road and the connector road that runs to Atherton Drive. The connector road was part of the Austin Road interchange replacement project.

It is the first city development proposed along Austin Road south of Highway 99.

The proposal joins plans the city is already reviewing for 276 homes on a parcel at 743 North Austin Road.

That project known as Austin Point is north of Sandra Street on the west side of Austin Road

It is on Austin Road between Louise Avenue and East Yosemite Avenue (East Highway 120).

The 797-home Cedar Point neighborhood by Lennar Homes that is also along Austin Road is now under construction between Van Ryn Road and East Yosemite Avenue.

Austin Road currently serves as Manteca’s eastern city limits north of Highway 99.

South of the freeway, there is a large swath of underdeveloped land within the city on both sides of Austin Road.

The city zoned a large chunk of 1,080 acres along the Austin Road corridor for residential development when it was annexed to Manteca a decade or so ago as part of an envisioned business park.

The zoning could potentially accommodate housing for 10,500 people.

The proposed Raymus project is not part of the 1,080 acres.
