Here’s a listing of Halloween happenings this year in Stanislaus County

• Empire Library’s Harvest Fall Festival is today at 2 p.m., which will celebrate the fall holidays with treats, crafts, a costume contest, and a special StoryTime. The event is located on 18 South Abbie in Empire and intended for children 4-12 years of age.

• ASMJC Student Senate presents its 8th Annual Halloween Carnival and Haunted House special today from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Modest Junior College, West Campus, located on 2201 Blue Gum Ave. in Modesto. All are able to attend, but family appropriate costumes are requested. There is no admission charge, but 1-4 tickets required for games, food, or entering the haunted house.

• The Boys & Girls Club of Stanislaus County presents a children’s Haunted House, complete with a haunted maze and pumpkin decorating station, located at 1137 Graphics Dr. in Modesto that will be open to the public, beginning today, from 5 p.m.  until Oct. 31. Admission is $10 adults, $5 kids age 5-12, free for children 5 and under.

• Turlock Church of Christ is holding a free Fall Festival today from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The event will provide games, food, crafts, and candy. Costumes are welcomed, but nothing sinister to scare the youngsters.

•Fat Cat Music House and Lounge in downtown Modesto is offering a Freak Fest today at 7 p.m. to celebrate Halloween. Entry costs $10, but the winner of the costume contest takes home $1,000.

• Patterson Repertory Theatre’s ghoulish production of “Macbeth” continues today at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m. through Nov. 3, and is located at 200 N. Seventh St. Tickets are $10 adults, $8 students.

Modesto’s St. Clair Theater is offering a standup comedy show featuring Eric Vikjord, Tom Bickle, and Jonny Creal, alongside a band. The event is titled “Happy Halloween! To Hell with the M.A.M.A.s” from 8 p.m. until 2 a.m. today. It is $5 to join the event, which includes a Halloween party, costume contest, dance, and full bar available for those 21 and up. Those 18 years and older allowed.

• Ceres Library will hold a Family Halloween StoryTime event Monday for children between the ages of 4-8 at 6 p.m. The library is located at 2250 Magnolia. Two storytellers will be present to read tales to young children.

• Turlock Public Library presents Halloween StoryTime from 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Wednesday. Targeted ages are 4-12. The library is located at 550 Minaret Ave., in Turlock.

• A Spooky Craft Fair will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Denair Library, 4801 Kersey Rd. Children can create their own lollipop ghosts.

• Downtown Waterford will offer a Grand ReOpening Trunk or Treat event from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday. There will be live music, candy, ribbon cutting, and transformed cars that look like houses, so children can go “trunk-to-trunk.”

• Ceres is once again holding its annual Halloween festival at the Ceres Community center from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday. The event will provide free activities for children, including crafts, photos, tricycle races, a science room, and “fortune teller.” Though no candy, goodie bags will be given out filled with crayons and coloring books.

• Harvest Christian Center is holding a Harvest Family Carnival from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at 225 Fourth St., Turlock. Admission is $3.
