The Manteca Historical Society’s 18th Annual Barbecue Social is Sunday, Sept. 26, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the country setting of Mick and Kristen Founts on North Union Road.

More than 20 years ago the Founts built a “new” Victorian based on a home they had owned in Stockton. Several years ago they rescued an old home, known as the Munson house, on French Camp Road and had it moved to the back of their property. Since then they have spent hundreds of hours restoring the two-story house. The social will take place on the expansive lawn between the two Victorians.

Dinner will be served at 4 p.m. Tri-tip, turkey, spaghetti, salad, marinated tomato slices, French bread, grapes, watermelon, and ice cream are all on the menu. It will also feature a bar, wine, sodas, coffee, iced tea, music, and raffle.

Tickets are available at German Glas Werks, the museum, 600 W. Yosemite, by calling ticket chairperson Phyllis Abram, 239-0744, or from any board member.

Ron Howe is chairman of the event.

The cost is $15 per person; $7 for children. Space and tickets are limited. Parking has been arranged at Three Rivers Indian Lodge next door.
