Chili Pot Cook Off benefits Second Harvest Food Bank

Second Harvest Food Bank’s second annual Chili Pot Cook Off takes place Saturday, Aug. 14, to help feed struggling families.  
 
The evening consists of chili, family fun, and raffle prizes. Tickets are available now at Second Harvest Food Bank. They will also be available at the door.  Tickets are $8 a person and include unlimited chili tasting and one non-alcoholic beverage. Children 5 and under are free.

This year’s event takes place   at the MRPS Hall in Manteca, 133 N Grant St.  Chili entry set-up begins at 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 14. The doors open at 5 p.m.

Applications to enter chili are being accepted through Aug. 7.  Call Alanna Robins at 239-2091 to obtain an application.  Applications can be returned in person or by mail to Second Harvest Food Bank at 704 Industrial Park Dr, Manteca, CA 95337.  

Second Harvest Food Bank will be awarding cash prizes again this year to the top three  “Best Tasting Chili” entries and for the “People’s Choice” Award. They are also adding a “Hottest Table” Contest with the best decorated table winning a prize.

All proceeds from the event will benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of San Joaquin and Stanislaus counties to continue to fight hunger in the community.
