Copperopolis Homecoming Celebration on Saturday

COPPEROPOLIS – Copperopolis Town Square – the events, shopping and entertainment gathering place in Calaveras County – will serve as evening host for the Copperopolis Homecoming Celebration on Saturday, June 4, including a street dance and live music from 6 to 9 p.m.

The day-long event begins on Main Street in historic Copperopolis with a pancake breakfast at the Armory from 8 to10:30 a.m. and live music by the Balladeers – Wayne Downs and Vince and Sally Iannarelli. From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Copperopolis Museum is open and the Armory will host a silent auction, quilt display and street vendors with souvenirs for sale. The Charlie Stone Homecoming Parade commences on Main Street and O’Brynes Ferry Road from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

From noon to 3 p.m., the Copper Fire Station 1 will serve as the headquarters for kid’s entertainment including a bouncy house, fire safety and demonstrations and BBQ lunch. Parade awards and raffle winners will be announced.

Copperopolis Town Square brings the day to a close with a street dance and live music from 6 to 9 p.m. Shops and restaurants will be open and accommodating guests from across the region.

The Copper Holding Company recently added a whole new sound to the band. Copperopolis resident Danny Burton handles lead guitar and vocals. He is well known in the region and residents and visitors enjoy coming out to listen and dance to his band.

To commemorate last year’s 150th anniversary of Copperopolis, a Historical Plaza was constructed using personalized bricks.

Situated in the rolling foothills of the Central Sierra on Highway 4 in Calaveras County, Copperopolis is 45 minutes from Manteca.
