PITTSBURG  (AP) — A San Francisco Bay Area woman has been arrested after confessing to killing her elderly parents in their house.

Pittsburg Police Capt. Ron Raman said 50-year-old Menique Lashon was in custody Saturday, a day after calling police to say her parents were dead inside their house.

Officers who went there found the body of Lashon’s 67-year-old mother and 73-year-old father. Raman said the couple had been stabbed multiple times and appeared to have been dead for several days.

Lashon, who lived with them, tried to clean the scene before calling police. Raman said she later confessed and was arrested on suspicion of murder.

Police have not released the parent’s name or a motive for the killings.
