Demolition of Ripon High bleachers set

Demolition on the Stouffer Field bleachers is set for Jan. 3.
Andy Strickland, who is the Maintenance and Operations Director for Ripon Unified, made that announcement at Monday’s school board meeting.
“We’ll have more on that,” he said, noting the timetables on the project.
Trustees recently hired Menghetti Construction.
The general contractor from Modesto was awarded the bid for the construction of the bleachers and press box at the Ripon High stadium at the board’s Nov. 17 special session.
At that same meeting, board members approved the Division of State Architect Inspection Services for the bleachers and press box project.
They also gave the go-ahead for an RFP (request for proposal) for an architect – not to exceed $60,000 – to pursue plans for the RHS stadium restrooms in the coming year.
Strickland, meanwhile, said in his report to the board that the swimming pool at Ervin Zador Aquatics Center at RHS is scheduled to be re-plastered on Dec. 26.
The one-day process will take place when students are off from school for the winter break, he added.
