The Manteca Unified School District is powering down for the summer.
That’s according to Superintendent Jason Messer, who talked about the streamlined hours for the summer at the school board meeting last Tuesday.
“The summer shut down is currently taking place,” he said. “We have three employees working exclusively on the first floor (of the three-story Administration Building).”
The district office hours from now through July 1 is 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays.
The facility is closed to the public on Fridays and will remain so from July 5 through July 16.
From July 19 through July 30, the district office will resume with the regular summer schedule – Mondays through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. – and closed Fridays.
Regular business hours resume on Monday, Aug. 2, with the first day of school scheduled for Monday, Aug. 16.
Meanwhile, the school sites – with the exception of those being used for the summer sessions – will be closed through July 30.
District officials are hopeful that the modified summer scheduled at the school sites and administration offices will result in energy savings.
“Everything seems to be going good,” Messer said.
