Proposed $186.7M budget for MUSD

The Manteca Unified Board of Trustees tonight will discuss and then consider approving the proposed 2014-2015 budget of $186,741,148. The discussion will include anticipated expenditures to the tune of $197,545,438.

The proposed budget is based on the district’s expected average daily attendance (ADA) of 22,117.41 for which the district receives state and federal funding.

Along with the recommendation that they approve the budget, the board is also asked to take into consideration the waiting period of 45 days for revisions and for the 2013-2014 books to be closed, a period that will allow the trustees to give any further director for budget changes. The waiting period will also give time for the State and the State Legislature to adopt a final budget for the state.

The public portion of the board meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the board room of the district office, 2271 W. Louise Avenue. The closed session which is not open to the public begins at 6 p.

Prior to the official start of the board meeting, the following recognitions and presentation will be made:

• to Lawrence Silveira and Noelle Lansser for the self-publication of the book, “Darkblade and the Secret Shadow;

• presentation of a check donation to the Health Services Department by members of the Women of Woodbridge at Del Webb, and;

• presentation of recognition award to Nutrition Services from Western Recycling.
