The City of Ripon officials are hoping to conduct a Fourth of July community fireworks celebration at Stouffer Field.

But in order to do so, they’ll need an OK from the Ripon Unified School District for the use of Ripon High School facility.

Tonight, the RUSD board will consider a request from Councilman Dean Uecker, who also sits on the Fireworks Show Committee.

He agreed to serve on the ad hoc group formed months ago for the purpose of seeking donations to help fund the Independence Day event.

The school board’s monthly session begins at 7 p.m. at the Ripon High Multi-Purpose Room.

Other agenda items include:

  • Trustees considering adopting a policy and administrative regulation on the federallyfunded Title 1 Program Improvement.
  • The board looking towards adopting an Open Enrollment Act policy regarding transfer students.
  • Trustees possibly terminating the agreement with California Consulting for grant writing.
  • The board looking to approve the Life-Works-ACTS.

The Ripon Unified district office is located at 304 N. Acacia Ave.
