RIPON – Superintendent Louise (Nan) Johnson is expected to recommend Clarise Louis as the chief business official at tonight’s special school board meeting.

If approved, she’ll fill the vacancy caused by the recent resignation of Carol Saul.

Ripon Unified school board will meet on this matter along with continuing the workshop on education and facilities master planning.

A public hearing by the San Joaquin County Office of Education on RUSD’s proposed redistricting boundaries for elected officials will take place at 6 p.m. at the Ripon City Council Chambers, 259 Wilma Ave.

The preliminary maps on this reapportionment plan are expected to be available.

As for Luis, she’s been with the district since 1995, getting her start in the business office as an account payable clerk.

In 2000, she was moved to personnel / payroll and, later, human resource manager.

Luis, who has completed college course work in accounting and business, once served as an assistant controller and was also the owner of a bookkeeping and tax preparation service prior to RUSD.

“Mrs. Luis has proven to be a dedicated employee who is willing to do whatever it takes to rise to the challenge of this new position,” said Johnson in her letter to the board. “Over the past year, she has jumped in to help when we had a vacancy in the accounts payable position and has helped navigate the office staff through the unanticipated absence of the CBO.”
