The Manteca Cowboys varsity kicked off the Central Valley Youth Football and Cheer campaign Saturday, breaking open a one-point game in the second half and defeating the Riverbank Outlaws 26-12 behind three C.J. Stevens touchdowns at Dino Cunial Field.

Stevens rumbled for 213 yards on 18 carries with scoring runs of 7, 8 and 20 yards. Anthony Johnson (eight carries, 55 yards) scored from 7 yards out. Ruben Cedano pulled in one reception for 22 yards.

Martin Sandoval paced Manteca with eight tackles. Germam Patron added seven stops, Tamatoa Macober, Ivan Torres and Rafael Nunez with four apiece and three for Cedano.

Manteca Jr. Buffaloes 22, Tracy Rampage 0

The Jr. Buffaloes scored all of their points in the second period on the road at West High’s Steve Lopez Stadium.

Jayden Vasquez (six carries, 34 yards) blocked a punt and recovered the block for a touchdown and pulled in a 10-yard scoring pass. Quinine Dunbar (seven carries, 86 yards) added a 9-yard touchdown from A.J. Hines.

Vasquez made four tackles, Gabriel Torres and Travis Maltes added three each with two apiece for Graysen Keller and Derek Trujillo.

Dunbar, Sebastian Barroga, Anthony Carcamo, Eddie Torres, Chis Duenas, Max Rios, and Adrian Reyes all contributed on defense for Manteca.

Junior varsity

Cowboys 31, Outlaws 6

Manteca’s Alejandro Hernandez was a perfect 18-of-18 passing for 302 yards passing and four touchdowns.

Hernandez hit Brayden Camara with touchdown throws of 19 and 51 yards and added 7-yard touchdown passes to Armani Candler and Aaron Hernandez. Ariel Cedano scored on a 1-yard run.

Josiah Johnson lcd the Manteca defense with nine tackles and a forced fumble. Easton Barreras and Christian Porter added six stops, Hudson Green five, Layla Castillo four and Santino Duarte recovered a fumble.

Rookies

Cowboys 49, Outlaws 0

Andre Johnson scored a pair of touchdowns for Manteca.

The Cowboys’ Andrew Sakalia scampered 65 yards for a score, Amarion Sepulveda posted an 8-yard touchdown run, Frankie Nieto II scored from 22 yards out, Jayden Ontai ran in a score from 25 yards out and T.J. Milliagn added a 10-yard scoring run.

Griffan Gunnar paced the defense with six stops, Sakalia tallied four with three apiece for Luis Quezada and Stephen Hillery. Charles Smith recovered a fumble.

Jr. Buffaloes 28, Rampage 0

Manteca’s Carter Louis tallied more than 100 all-purpose yards.

Carter pulled in a 73-yard touchdown pass from Jace Texeira and posted 68 yards on four carries. Brixxton Fryer (seven carries, 50 yards) scored a touchdown, Harrison Catalanao added 44 yards on six carries and Kam Edwards contributed to the defense.

Gabe Hernandez, Tiger Singh, Derringer Spangler and Rowan Dahle made five tackles apiece for the Jr. Buffaloes.

Manteca’s Hunter Cara gained 110 yards on just five carries.

Dimitri Sakalia scored on a 8-yard run for the Cowboys and Arron Perez added a 10-yard scoring run.

Sakalia led the defense with seven tackles, Omar Castillo and Brian Bass made five stops apiece with four each for Jayden Soto (forced fumble, fumble recovery and Arron Perez.

Jr. Buffaloes 19, Rampage 0

Manteca’s Kayden Edwards scored a pair of touchdowns.

Edwards (seven carries, 127 yards) scored on runs of 42 and 76 yards and Cameron Carter (four carries, 34 yards) scored from 1 yards out.

Edwards tallied eight tackles, Cameron Carter six and Lennox Fryer three.
