The Parent-Teacher Club of the Walter Woodward Elementary School will hold its 7th annual omelet breakfast fund-raiser to benefit their many programs and projects. The event will be held Saturday, Dec. 4, from 7 a.m. until noon in the school cafeteria.

Tickets at $5 each will be available at the door.

The complete menu, in addition to the omelet, will include muffins donated by the Parent-Teacher Club, coffee donated by Main Street Café, donuts donated by a donut business in town, and juice.

In addition to the breakfast, there will be 10 vendor booths where guests will be able to browse or purchase items to jump start their Christmas shopping, said PTC president Daniele Morrish.

There will be a silent auction as well featuring themed baskets that each grade level had prepared.

“We usually have 10 baskets but sometimes a couple of classes put one together,” she said.

“All proceeds from the silent auction will go directly to the classrooms,” Morrish said, in the form of various school supplies like pencils.

Additionally, various area businesses have donated prizes that will be given away at a drawing held during the breakfast.

There will be a 50-50 drawing as well that morning, with 50 percent of the prize going to the winner and the other half to the PTC’s general fund.

Proceeds from the breakfast fund-raiser, except the money raised from the themed basket auction, will go to the PTC’s general fund and will be used for a variety of ways to help the school and staff.

“If a teacher needs funds for field trips, it comes out of that account. Or for science camp scholarship for students that cannot afford it,” explained Morrish.

Tickets for the breakfast may be purchased at the door. They are also available at the school during regular business hours. The school is located at 575 Tannehill Drive. For any other information, contact the school at (209) 858-7430.
