Those attending the Mother’s Day High Tea function at The Commons at Union Ranch received a special treat last Thursday.

Chris Pucci, tenor of Julliard and the Metropolitan Opera Company in New York City, performed at the annual event benefiting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Manteca.

He entertained some 80 folks at the Manteca assisted living facility, singing Italian songs along with some of his favorites while standing high above the second-story staircase.

The Union Ranch staff, meanwhile, served up variety of teas — choices included Mandarin orange, Victorian Earl Grey, cinnamon, and breakfast blend — along with entrees and desserts as prepared by Executive Chef Tracy Ross.

Courtney Hill, executive director of The Commons, welcomed those attending this special event.

Activities Director Nicole Bacon and Marketing Director DeAnna DeDios announced the  winners of the prizes in the drawing.

DeDios added that those items along with Pucci’s CDs sold that day also went to help the local Boys & Girls Clubs.
