Manteca Police have confirmed a drive by shooting struck a house in the 1000 block of Tower Street Thursday around 1 p.m.

They were no injuries.

Social media accounts reported the shooting was on Powers Avenue near North Street. Those reports are incorrect.

Tower Street is in southwest Manteca roughly two blocks south of where an elementary school is being built near Woodward Avenue and Jason Street.

Manteca Police confirm an average of one such shooting a month

The last shooting where some one was injured was July 2 at the 7-Eleven at 1048 W. Yosemite Avenue.

Police made four arrests in that shooting, The victim sustained non-life threating injuries.
