Marisella Guerrero has a passion for serving others.

She’s a pharmacist, university professor and proud mother of two.

It’s that passion that has Guerrero seeking to continue being of service to others by running for the Manteca Unified School Board Trustee Area 7.

“If elected, I will ensure that the board is putting the concerns of students, teachers and parents first,” she said.

Guerrero is a product of MUSD, attending French Camp School from kindergarten through eighth grade before going to East Union High.

She then went to the University of the Pacific, where she graduated with a Doctor of Pharmacy.

But way before that, Guerrero wanted to pursue a career in health care. She’s a product of an immigrant family and, therefore, understands the challenges faced by families and students in similar situations.

As for her strong work ethics, she credits her father, who was a farm laborer and part of the original Braceros program.

“He worked tirelessly in the (labor) camps. He later made his life here and progressed to become a foreman,” Guerrero said.

Her father also spent his life helping those in need while looking out for the safety and welfare of the farm laborers that he oversaw.

Marisella Guerrero wants to provide a voice and representation for students from marginalized communities. She’s an advocate for them, both as a healthcare provider and activist.

As a university professor, she understands the struggles of educators.

“Teachers in our district have been appreciated and have lacked resources and support to perform their jobs to the best of their abilities,” Guerrero said.
