High school graduations set for Aug. 1

The Manteca Unified Class of 2020 will celebrate graduating high school in ceremonies being planned for Saturday, Aug.1.

That’s five days before the next school year starts on Thursday, Aug. 6.

The time and locations of the graduations haven’t been worked out nor has the logistics.

Victoria Brunn, MUSD community outreach coordinator, noted that the ceremonies will adhere to whatever social distancing and COVID-19 protocols are deemed necessary by the State Department of Education as well as the Centers for Disease Control.

All graduation-related events are designed to make sure participants stay healthy and safe.

East Union, Manteca, Lathrop, Sierra, and Weston Ranch graduation beremonies will all take place on Aug. 1. BE.Tech, New Vision, and Calla graduation ceremonies are set for Friday, July 31.

Diploma pick-up for Manteca High and Weston Ranch High is set for Thursday, May 28, at 8 a.m.

East Union High diploma pick-up is Wednesday, May 27, and Thursday, May 28 from 8 a.m. until noon.

Diploma pick-ups on Friday, May 29, are BE.Tech at 8 a.m., Sierra High from 8 to 11 a.m., and Lathrop High from 10 a.m. to noon.

Calla High is having a cap and gown drive thru this evening at 6:30 p.m. while a cap and gown drive thru for New Vision High takes place today at 11 a.m.

Online baccalaureate ceremonies for all Manteca Unified high schools are set for Tuesday, May 26, at 6 p.m.

Promotion drive-thru events for all eighth graders that have earned advancement to high school are taking place next week.

Those set for Tuesday, May 26, are Great Valley at 9 a.m.; Golden West, Joshua Cowell, Lincoln, Shasta and Neil Hafley at 10 a.m., Brock Elliott and George Komure at 11 a.m.; McParland at 4 p.m., and Mossdale at 5 p.m.

Those taking place on Wednesday, May 27, are Veritas at 9 a.m., August Knodt, French Camp, Joseph Widmer, and New Haven at 10 a.m.; Lathrop at 11 a.m.; Woodward at 1 p.m., Stella Brockman at 4 p.m., Sequoia at 4:30 p.m., and Nile Garden at 6:30 p.m.
