Manteca Indivisible members are gathering at 5:30 p.m. this afternoon to show their support for the move to impeach President Trump.
Thirty plus people are expected to show up at the corner of Airport Way and Daniels Streets — the main intersection to access Costco — to demonstrate their solidarity with Democrats in the House of Representatives that are bringing articles of impeachment to the floor for a vote on Wednesday. Organizers are inviting others to join them.
It is one of numerous such demonstrations scheduled to take place across the country today.
Manteca Indivisible played a key role in helping elect Josh Harder to Congress. Their support was also considered pivotal in Ben Cantu’s successful election as Manteca’s mayor.
Manteca Indivisible isn’t the only local residents taking to the streets for political causes. In the past week — including Monday — those that are part of an effort to recall Governor Gavin Newsom have been setting up shop curbside along North Main Street hoping to get motorists to stop and sign a petition to qualify a recall for the ballot.

A suggested neighborhood
to take a Christmas l
light tour in Manteca
Tom and Gayl Wilson have a recommendation for Christmas tree light lovers.
They suggest taking an evening cruise through the Kennsington Place neighborhood. It’s the 99-home neighborhood in east Manteca in the triangle bounded by Louise Avenue, Cottage Avenue and Highway 99.
The Wilsons are particularly impressed with the number of homeowners with lights and how intense some of the displays are.
