Prior to Monday's Ripon Unified school board meeting, Frank Jerome had been recognized as the district's Chief Operations Officer and for his years of service in the armed forces.

RUSD, in terms of the latter (prior to COVID-19), honored employees who served their country in recent years. Jerome was in the Navy.

He was honored again. This time it was for his retirement.

After 28 years of handling the business and finance side of public education, Jerome is stepping down.

"He worked for six districts in several counties including one district twice," said Superintendent Ziggy Robeson.

She noted that Jerome and his wife purchased a home on the Oregon coast not too long ago.

For nearly 3½  years, he was the COO at RUSD. Trustees accepted Jerome's retirement with plans to hire internally on his replacement on an interim basis.

The job description, according to Robeson, is that of Human Resources / Chief Business Officer.
